Description
The USSU Childcare Centre, which provide care for children aged 6 months to 6 years of age, has been in operation on the University of Saskatchewan campus since 1992 and has recently expanded its operations from 66 to 156 childcare spaces. The USSU Childcare Centre includes the Williams Building location as well as the newly constructed facility in McEown Park, adjacent to Souris Hall on the U of S campus.
We are hiring for 3 ECE positions for both locations. The Early Childhood Educations primary duty is to provide quality care in all areas of development in order to maintain the well-being of each child in the Centre.
Responsibilities: Complete supervision of children, including monitoring of development in all area.
Program planning, organizing and implementation.
Maintaining current certification in First Aid and CPR
Maintain an open, communicative relationship with parents and co-workers at all times
Ensure the Centre has a loving, caring and visually appealing atmosphere
Training: ECE III.
Bachelor of Education with ECE III equivalency
Valid first aid/ CPR
A valid criminal record check within the last 6 months
Language Benchmark Level of 7+

Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
- Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
- Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Observe children and report on observations to supervisor
- Prepare and serve snacks
- Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them
Credentials
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
