The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Vancouver Island (BGCCVI) is Vancouver Island’s largest childcare provider and is trusted by more parents than any other childcare provider. The BGCCVI is a registered Non-Profit organization and charitable organization serving over 1000 children, youth and families in Comox, Courtenay, Lantzville, Nanaimo, Ladysmith and Chemainus through enriching programs in 13 club locations.
We are currently undergoing a period of expansion and significant change and are consequently looking for an Early Childhood Educator.

As caring adult role models, BGCCVI staff build healthy, supportive relationships with children and youth, which in turn can positively influence the life path they choose.
This is a casual position. Reporting to the Earl Childhood Educator, Ladysmith Daycare, the ECE is responsible for:
? Plans, carries out and evaluates developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children using modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing techniques. Develops daily program schedules that include indoor/outdoor, active/quiet and individual and group activities that meet BGCCVI Core Programming standards.
? Communicates with families about children’s growth and development. Requests input from and participation of parents in the development of programs. Confers with parents with regard to usual or problematic issues.
? Identifies the abilities, interests and needs of children and develops individualized and group curriculum based on these. Recommends referrals or additional services or work in consultation with professional such as behavioural therapists, occupational therapists and speech and language pathologists.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
? Early Childhood Education Diploma preferred. (Combination of education and experience will be considered)
? ECE – Early Childhood Registry (License) MCFD
? Must be Licensed with the Provincial Community Care Licensing Board
? Previous work experience in a similar environment is preferred Experience in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programs, and activities
Salary: $17.00 per hour
