Early Childhood Educator Assistant/ECE Educator
Reggio Kids Nature School & Early Learning Centre is seeking a dynamic, energetic, creative and experienced Early
Childhood Educator OR ECE Assistant to join the early learning team in offering quality child care services for
children 3-5 years old. This position is a one year maternity leave full time position.
Qualifications
• MUST have a Valid ECE Certificate to Practise OR ECE Assistant Certificate to Practise through the BC
Ministry of Children and Family Development (Min. requirements Basic ECE)
• 1+ years experience in a Child Care setting, experience in the Reggio approach is an asset but not
mandatory.
• A Criminal Record Check clearance letter
• A Valid First Aid Certificate
• Computer knowledge and skills (word, publisher, excel is an asset)
• Effective guiding and caring skills in working with children
Competencies:
• To facilitate in the implementation of a child-centered program. Strong understanding of child growth and
development
• Experience in working with families from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral. Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
• Ability to be actively and physically involved in the program on a daily basis, comfortable leading children
in small group activities based on the Reggio Approach to learning
• Willing and able to be outdoors, exploring in the natural environment on a daily basis.
• Planning & implementation and evaluating activities and experiences to meet child’s individual and group
needs.
• Ability to use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing and recording, questioning,
demonstrating and positive reinforcement to support a child’s growth and development
• Ensuring that guidance of children’s behaviour supports positive self-concept
• Work alongside the Program Director with a strong ability in leadership, effective communication and
team dynamics.
• Participate in team meetings, networking and professional development as required.
• Reports to and satisfactorily complete any task or requests as outlined by the Program Director
Employment Terms: Part Time, 27.5 hours/week
Wage: Fair wage, based on Qualifications, skills and education Hours of Work: Monday to Friday
