Reggio Kids Nature School & Early Learning Centre
Early Childhood Educator Assistant
Reggio Kids Nature School & Early Learning Centre is seeking a dynamic, energetic, creative and experienced Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join the early learning team in offering quality child care services for children 3-5 years old.  This position is a Permanent part time position approximately 20-25 hours per week.
Qualifications
• Has a Valid ECE Certificate to Practise or ECE Assistant Certificate to Practise through the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development 
• 1-3 years or more experience in a Child Care setting or related field
• A Criminal Record Check clearance letter
• A Valid First Aid Certificate
• Immunization Status report
• Current Physician’s Note indicating physical and psychological capacity to work with children and carry out assigned duties
• Ability to provide references
• Effective guiding and caring skills in working with children
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team environment, families and community
Additional Assets/Qualifications:
• Computer knowledge and skills
• Priority given to applicants with a background in nature based learning and Reggio Emilia approach
Competencies:
• To facilitate in the implementation of a child-centered program
• Understanding of child growth and development
• Some experience in working with families from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
• Ability to effectively work with staff and volunteers in a team environment
• Engaged in exploring and implementing the goals of the Early Learning Framework
• Ability to be actively and physically involved in the program on a daily basis.
• Ability to work in the natural environment on a daily basis.
• Has some understanding of nature based learning and/or Reggio Emilia approach to learning or willingness to learn

• To occasionally plan and prepare nutritious snacks and healthy lunch
• Planning & implementation and evaluating activities and experiences to meet child’s individual and group needs.
• Ability to use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing and recording, questioning, demonstrating and positive reinforcement to support a child’s growth and development
• Ensuring that guidance of children’s behaviour supports positive self-concept
• Ensuring that child care environment is healthy and safe for all children
• Maintain effective and cooperative team work and communication
• Participate in team meetings, networking and professional development as required. 
• Reports to and satisfactorily complete any task or requests as outlined by the Program Director or Early Childhood Educator
Employment Terms:  part-time/week
Wage: a fair wage to be determined based on qualifications and experience
Position Start Date: Immediately or August 28th, 2017
Hours of Work:  Monday to Friday, 4-5 hours per day (negotiable)
