Description

Eastview Centre for Early Learning Co-operative is looking for a Centre Cook to join our team. Eastview Centre is a 50 space licensed childcare facility located within Ecole Alvin Buckwold School providing high quality early learning and childcare to children ages 3 to 12 years in a home away from home atmosphere.

The Centre Cook is responsible for providing nutritious and appealing meals and snacks for the children and educators following the guidelines as set out by the Ministry of Education and Canada Food Guide.  Responsibilities include all aspects of menu planning, purchasing, food preparation and service. The Cook will also be required at times to help the team in providing high quality childcare to the children by covering staff during staff lunch breaks, programming time and days off.

This has been both a full-time and part-time (mornings) position so hours are negotiable although candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday.  The full-time position includes the Centre Cook supervising children in our after school program for a portion of their shift.

Safe Food Handling Certificate and a Criminal Record Check are required for this position.  Candidates also must have or be willing to obtain certification in Standard First Aid / CPR.  Certification as an Early Childhood Educator and/or experience working in a childcare centre are assets.
