Dunrae Gardens is located in the Town of Mount Royal, and is accessible via the #16 bus from Parc Metro.

Mission Statement
Dunrae Gardens supports and promotes a child-centered approach to education that recognizes that intellectual development and personal growth are intimately connected. The school advocates the creation of an environment that minimizes anxiety, promotes positive attitudes, and stimulates an excitement for learning within the confines of the school’s bilingual status. Dunrae’s goal is to help each child reach his or her potential and to provide that child with the skills necessary to live and work cooperatively in a technological society.

Distinctive Programs and School Atmosphere
Dunrae offers an early French Immersion program. In Kindergarten and Cycle I, students are taught completely in French, while they receive half their instruction in English in Cycles II and III. There are also programs dealing with study skills, addressing negative behavior and supporting positive behavio, as well as a lunch hour enrichment program and conflict resolution instruction. “Project Games”, for instance, was developed to teach the children how to play cooperatively. At Dunrae Gardens, a school uniform is mandatory.

Parental Participation
Parents are actively involved and provide assistance in many areas such as the library, Olympics Day, Carnival and field trips. There is a very active and supportive Home and School Association, as well as an involved Governing Board and Parent Participation Organization.
