Our Paralegal program provides students with the specialized knowledge and skills required to work as paralegals in Ontario.
It is designed for those seeking licensing in accordance with the Law Society Act and under the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) to become a practicing paralegal and for those who wish to upgrade their skills and broaden their areas of knowledge and expertise in authorized areas of practice.
Provincial legislation requires paralegals to be licensed to practice in the areas of Small Claims Court, Provincial Offences, Summary Conviction Offences and Administrative Tribunals in Ontario.

• Gain the specialized knowledge and skills required to obtain licensing and work as a paralegal in Ontario via our fully accredited three semester graduate certificate program.
• Learn how to argue cases and represent clients in the paralegal scope of practice areas of Small Claims Court, Provincial Offences, Summary Conviction Offences and Administrative Tribunals in Ontario.
• Participate in authentic case-based learning experiences involving real world scenarios, "client" meetings, document drafting and filing, culminating in full mock trial and hearing exercises and events.

Our professors make extensive use of legal technology and problem-based learning models that reflect what you will encounter when working in the real world.
• We offer an extensive field placement component where students have the opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience in a real-world legal environment under the supervision of a licensee.
Graduates should be prepared to apply for the provincial Licensing exams and upon successful completion of the Licensing exam process and attainment of licensed paralegal status will be eligible for employment as a Licensed Paralegal in Ontario in various legal environments and/or may act in a self-employed capacity and offer permitted legal services directly to the public for a fee without the supervision of a lawyer.
